Family Maternity Portraits at Ashdown Park
Those of you that know me know how I LOVE to tell stories through my photography, and help document events in people’s lives. These photographs may not seem that important right now, but they are priceless in years to come, especially when there are children involved.
I have two boys, ages 6 and 5, and our family photograph albums are among their favourite books to look at. They love looking back on birthdays, holidays and events that they don’t quite remember, and they love even more looking at photographs from before they were born. Our Wedding Album is very much loved, when Daddy’s hair was brown and Uncle Dan had that funny hair cut!
So when Marie asked me if I would like to take some Maternity portraits of her and her young family, I of course said I’d love to. Marie married Andy last summer at the beautiful Ashdown Park, and my husband and I were lucky enough to be invited to enjoy the day as guests. It was a glorious day, with little Freya, their daughter, looking adorable as a flower girl.
So Ashdown Park was the ideal location to capture these portraits in, telling the next chapter of the Wright Family story, with Master Wright’s arrival due late spring.
Having spoken to Marie about her favourite places around Ashdown Park, the three of us took Freya on a little walk, played peekaboo on the bridge, visited the steps of the Summer House where Marie and Andy made their vows, danced on the pathway lined with daffodils, and even paid a visit to the Richard Towney Suite, and captured some portraits in front of the stunning stained glass windows that was the backdrop for their amazing wedding day last September.
For me, my clients having an enjoyable experience is as important as the beautiful photographs we create, and I’m happy to say we all had a truly magical time on our session.
